why is it free
All-We offers various website related services, installing WordPress is one of the things we get asked to do time and again as part of a larger process. Whenever a site or blog is created a domain name and server needs to be used. Our experience producing sites since 1997 has given us a unique perspective on the matter of selecting a hosting service which differs from many of the opinions in articles published online written generally with the sole purpose of pushing the hosting company that the writer desires to promote. On the other hand our idea is to help those with little or no experience in publishing on the Internet to find the best options for hosting their sites and blogs. We select three companies using the following criteria. Value for money, feature sets and customer service. The selected companies are subjected to ongoing evaluation and may change at any given time. What do we get out of it? … By using one of the selected companies your payment is tracked and we receive a commission which maintains the free service site open, and also helps us meet new customers that may be interested in our additional services.

But isn’t wordpress supposed to be easy to install
Both the cost and feature set of hosting services have come down enormously since 1997, which means the services offered by hosting companies provide increasing value for money and ultimately this means more and more people and companies can afford to go ‘online’. This creates a situation where more people wish to publish on the Internet but many of these do not have the necessary experience or the time to learn some parts of the process. WordPress is easy to install, but the install Wordpress for free service is easier, and includes a whole lot more. Users of the service can go straight to publishing their content, select one of 10 themes, and enjoy the benefits of 14 essential plugins, an email address setup, not worry about most of the spam that they would otherwise receive, and get on with publishing their contents.

Many hosting companies offer the same cost and some even less, why choose these particular three.
Essentially the amount of disk space and transfer is not as important as it sounds, what is important is CPU and memory quote, the number of sites you can host and importantly the quality of support. A large amount of traffic at any given time, either constant or in spikes, will mean that the hosting company will drop your service, this is true of all bargain hosting packages. What does this mean really? Well to most of us nothing. Only about 10 percent or less sites and blogs actually require more than what the bargain packages provide. On the other hand if you do have very high traffic or spikes, then this is a problem because your site will be DOWN, and any down time is not good for the site’s image. What no hosting company tells you directly is that if you need to process large amounts of traffic to your site, no budget package will cope because they all are hosted on shared servers, your site shares the CPU and memory of the same server with multiple sites. An altogether different hosting package is needed for traffic intensive sites. Fortunately the three selected companies that may be used to take advantage of our free installation service also offer an upgrade path when needed, specifically a dedicated server package which provides a dedicated server for your site only. Whats the catch? Cost of course, instead of approximately $7 a month you will pay well over 100 or 200 per month for most dedicated server options. For most of us however a shared hosting package is the way to go, and if a dedicated server is required then an upgrade path is available, if you are receiving that amount of traffic the cost of a dedicated server should not be a problem, so it all comes down to which companies offer the best shared server packages, and here, anything over the cost that these three companies give, and the amount of features they provide is out of the question. But that’s still not the main reason.

So what’s the difference between these three and other shared server options
Basically, value for money and excellent customer support, which means you will be a whole lot happier in general. Our personal experience with many hosting companies has left us with little choice as to what services to recommend. Not everyone is happy with any particular hosting service, but in our opinion these have the best track record so far, and this an opinion shared by thousands of customers and hosting service evaluation sites.

What about wordpress.com and blogger

WordPress.com and blogger both offer a service where your blog or site is hosted on their own servers, so this avoids the cost of using a hosting company however this also severely limits what you are able to do with your site or blog. Users of these services who are serious about their site end up moving to either a bespoke setup or wordpress hosted on their own server. If you havent used these services yet, it may be an option to try them out for yourself to see what can and cannot be done, when you are done come back here and we will get you started with your own site, not a space on someone elses blog. Having Wordpress installed on your own server is a completely different option and offers a range of advantages that wordpress.com users cannot enjoy. Your URL will be the domain you choose when signing up at one of the hosting companies, in other words it will be www.yourchosendomainname.com, whereas with wordpress.com it will be www.yourchosenname.wordpress.com. It costs money but you will be able to do whatever you want with it, upgrade it, theme it, add or remove plugins and add any content or links you want. You have complete control over your site. Wordpress.com is free, however it is hosted at wordpress.com which means that in addition to having to use the wordpress.com domain URL as a suffix to your chosen name, you are restricted as to the type of content and links that you use, such as ads or affiliate links. If you are looking to monetize your website or blog, this severely limits your possibilities. You cannot use Google AdSense for example, you are limited to how much you change the design of your site, and you only receive basic analytics information. With wordpress on your own server you have the ability to upload any theme, ability to upload plugins, ability to edit or alter (hack) the code to your own taste or requirements. You can place advertisingand there are no limitations to what you do with your site (advertisements and affiliate links are limited at wordpress.com)

Disadvantages
You need to host the software on your own server (costs 6 to 12 dollars per month), requires technical knowledge to set up and run (that’s why you use our free service)  :), you are responsible for stopping spam (included in free service), you have to handle backups (included in free service)

The only real disadvantage is that you have to host it on your own server which costs money, whilst on the other hand not being able to use the themes you want to nor the plugins you want to or need, and not being able to edit the code are serious disadvantages, as any serious blogger will tell you.

By using our free service you also have no problem with the disadvantages cited at wordpress.com for using wordpress on your own server.
